[dmalbum path=”/wp-content/uploads/dm-albums/ new York/”/]On Friday,May 18 we arrived at Summit North Marina and Yacht Club at the Entrance to the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. We ate at a beautiful restaurant perched on a hill overlooking the Marina(Aqua Sol) On Wednesday,May 23 we entered New York harbor passing under the Verrazano Bridge.We passed the Statue of Liberty and then Ellis Island (where the immigrants were processed and then purchased train tickets and boarded the ferry to the CRRNJ railroad terminal on Liberty Landing. We stayed at the Marina on Liberty Landing.It was fleet week and we saw many warships and the skyscrapers of Manhattan.Also on Liberty Landing the Empty Sky:New Jersey:September 11 Memorial.Also A traveling exhibit on Alcatraz.

Julie Brattset is the author of "They Call My Grandpa Captain". She was born in Chicago, IL. and now lives in Holland, Michigan with her husband, Al Brattset. She enjoys spending the summers on the boat with her family and friends.
Al Brattset is the illustrator of "They Call My Grandpa Captain". He began illustrating in 2012 after completing the "Great Loop". He wanted to share his love of boating with his grandchildren.
